We ski

Day one of November. Day two of skiing so far this season. Someday soon I will get a small, cheap camera that will allow me to shoot some skiing images this winter. For what a winter it shall be. But for now I'll leave it at this. Sliding on snow at 12,000 feet above sea level with a brilliant sunny sky and a ragingly white Continental Divide, with my favorite ski partner in the world makes me very, very happy. We even got in the trees and skied some bumps today. Face has that slightly sun exposed feeling, and I feel healthy, as that glowing orb in the sun helped do more for the cold we have both been battling than all the Sudafed, Nyquil and Vitamin-C in the world. The shadows on the mountain and the sun dropped down, the red sky raging over South Arapaho on the trek home, the sheer expanse of the places to ski this winter…yeah, it's good. Dry out, rewind and repeat. Winter is on.
