A little forest fire that for a few minutes was billowing over town and brought back some memories of 2010, but it ended up OK. Good thing too – Nederland would have gotten torched. Be careful – it's dry out there. Evening session at the Alpine Training Center was brutal, but had plenty of fun time today too, including a fun hike at one of my old haunts. Happy weekend all.

Well, it’s good that no real danger came from this. Forest fires can be pretty scary once they start licking on dry wood and leaves. They can be like an avalanche of heat and destruction.

Forest fire is extremely dangerous if it reaches the metropolitan area and the residences. All of us can prevent such disaster in our own little ways. Well, one that comes to mind is to prevent from smoking, especially while moving from one place to another, in forest areas. Furthermore, it contributes to the air’s cleanliness at the same time.
